With venues – or when planning to open a new venue – always keep in mind the core market of your business. Concentrate on this from the beginning. And, if you are adding any other facilities, then it should be done AFTER the core part of the business is running smoothly, efficiently and professionally.
When adding additional facilities, they should be extensions of the core market. In other words, what the customers who are using the venue want to see added.
This means that the goal of the venue is to reach the core market. If it is a restaurant, the core market is lunches and dinners. If it is a hotel, the core market is bedrooms.
Only when the core market is achieved, should extensions be added. Extensions may be things like a spa; leisure facilities; play area for children, etc.
